A2B are a Christian development agency working in Albania – one of europes poorest countries. We bring hope, compassion and practical support to poor communities.

What makes A2B, well A2B? We have summed this up in our Values.

A2B Values

We are Christ – centred

John 14:6
Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The reason we exist and the reason we do what we do is because of  Jesus. To honour him, to build His Kingdom and to be in obedience to his command to  ‘love our neighbour as ourselves’. We are motivated by our faith in Jesus and our desire to see him glorified in this world, especially in a world of need and injustice.

We are Compassionate

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

We exercise compassion, just as Jesus did, and in our work we reflect that same compassion to be Jesus to others. It is not a statement of weakness, it is not a sentimental statement of pity; it is a dynamic action which restores justice, frees the oppressed and binds the enemy and lifts those in poverty to a place of worth and dignity. It is a value of strength and purpose. Being compassionate also means making tough choices.

We are Truthful

Ephesians 4:25

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbour, for we are all members of one body.

All that we do and say is done out of an attitude of proclaiming truthfulness. We are defined as an organisation by our integrity, especially in an environment where it is common practice to distort the truth for self -gain. We are known as a people who keep our word and do not make false promises.

We are Relational

Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

People are important. Loving our neighbour is not an option. Christ sums up the Royal Law – ‘Love God – Love each other’. We put people first and relate to them as individuals and families, not just as projects, numbers and objectives. As Jesus left the magnificence of his heavenly home to come to earth and dwell as as one of us, so we relate to others in their need, in their environment, and as fellow human beings.

Our vision is to lift dignity and restore hope by  –

  • Respecting the the rights and dignity of every person
  • Ensuring all have access to basic needs in life
  • Recognising that women and men share equally in shaping their societies and our world
  • Ensuring the structures that shape people’s lives are just and enable peace.
